This bar was in Manhattan, and the two men were reminiscing about their homeland. The conversation turned to drink, as it often does in these situations.

They came up with the idea of creating a vodka that would be made by Scottish distillers, using only Scottish barley and Scottish mountain water.

After months of hard work the idea that began in New York became a reality; VALT Vodka was first distilled on St. Andrew's Day and bottled on the anniversary of Robbie Burns' birthday.
